Livestock and Meat Branch started to serve in Sütlüce (Haliç) in 1954 and was opened to operation along with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Slaughterhouse in Tuzla Aydınlıköy on 26 January 1989 due to the work of the Halic cleaning project.
The Livestock and Meat Branch, which is established on a total of 132 acres, has a covered area of 25.680 m2. These facilities have 15,000 small cattle and 1,500 units cattle.
Livestock and meat branch has been accredited according to number 2000/34 rescript, Accreditation of Livestock markets and inspections method and principles” by the Republic Of Turkey Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock. As is, this is the most modern and biggest livestock market in Turkey and Europe.
